WOW... already the end of February

I want to share one last card with our February theme of non-traditional Valentine cards at Die Cut Divas.  and share the spot light with one of my favorite stamp companies, Hero Arts challenge of Love and Lace.

The background was actually an error on my part, but I never throw something away until I've tried to use it at least twice.  I ran the purple/blue panel through my Cuttlebug sandwiched in a Tim Holtz embossing folder - a random brick design.  I love it.  Some Hero Arts stamping with Dots and Flowers and sentiment from Anytime Messages CL129 with a heart cut on the Cuttlebug from Provo Craft.

Love the Vintage ATC

I thought the theme was so great for the swap on the Flickr group "Monthly Themed ATC " swap for February.

"Make one ATC that relates to something you "LOVE", it might be a book, a movie, a song, a season, your cat/dog, person, place or thing. Anything you "LOVE" any style, any technique."

When I was young, I never would have loved "OLD" stuff.  LOL.  But now, I do love the charm of it all.  Here's my ATC with some things I LOVE.

Impression Obsession

I've not used Impression Obsession stamps before, just because I hadn't heard of them.  At an all-day card making even at my LSS, several stamps were introduced to me.  The first two cards were made at the shoppe and are square..

Alesa Baker Designs, Impression Obsession, Inc. - E8885 .  Wonderful vintage girl. Gorgeous cardstock and I wish I could remember the brand.  The clever strip of sentiment was actually part of the toss-away strip on the bottom of one of the lovely 12" X 12" papers we used that day.

Alesa Baker Designs, Impression Obsession, Inc. - H8844.  Envelope with butterfly.  If I didn't show you what this stamp looked like, you'd never know what some cuts here and there might produce.  The tags were stuck inside the envelope.  I did re-arrange the flap on the right of the card above after I took the photo, so the butterfly is visible as shown on my second card below.

Alesa Baker Designs, Impression Obsession, Inc. - H8844.- Cling Stamp, very versatile

I made this card at home and was so glad I had an example to see where the cutting was done.  The butterfly hangs on by only its left wing.  On this card, you can actually pull the tag out.  I used two Hero Arts clear stamp sets & die, plus a Spellbinder's flower die on the pink paper.

I picked the little girl as my stamp at the end of the day and purchased the envelope stamp.  I think they will see good use in the future.

Free Image and I LOVE it!

Not everything that is free is acceptable... sometimes, only the good stuff is worthy of one's time.  I have to say that this image is darling and I had to color it immediately after printing.  I saw some darling images today while I visited Whoopsi Daisy!   And this one is free!!!  It's. the January 28th freebie.  Here's the card I made with the darlin'.
Can you not help but love her?  I do.

Some Copic markers and embellishments, some scrap orangish paper that I liked the shape and she's ready to go out with purse in hand.  She's better coordinated than I am.

One more thing!   There's a new challenge at the Whoopsi Daisy Challenge blog.  I'm entering this card.  Hope you like her.... yes, again I LOVE it!

Mostly a Penny Black Day!

I love the way this turned out.  I had purchased the tag cards at Michaels and hadn't used them at all.  I also picked up the Penny Black cling set at my LSS yesterday.  I thought it would go well with a clear set I have had for a year.  The lady is perfect with her purse (ok, a little large, but I think it works) beside this cling store.  The roof was easy to cut out and overlap part of the frame.  A gem on the purse, doorknob and by the heart were enough embellishments for me.  I wrote my granddaughter's name on the store front, so it will be just perfect for her.  She's younger than the young lady in the card, but she'll like it.

Heart Box, you say?

I never would have made a Heart Box, but I went to an all-day event at "The Stamp Art Shoppe" and played ALL DAY!   Here is the result.... well, one result of this all day work-out!  hehe  Great plus too; this is an example of colors used for Valentines, other than only Reds or Pinks!  See the Die Cut Divas' February challenge!
The Box after decoration - it was a plain cardboard box before this whole process. The wonderful bird cage is a chip board cut-out that was in one of our packages. The heart is from my Provo Craft die.  The bird is a stamp from the Hero Arts Antique Engravings clear set (CL383).

The heart is from my Provo Craft die.

Close-up of the top of the box.

I really enjoyed making this box and it was fun to work with women who enjoyed the process as well.  See my February 5th post for photos of how spoiled we were at "The Stamp Art Shoppe".  Happy Heart month!

TIME TO STAMP!

I love my local stamp shop - The Stamp Art Shoppe!   What do they say?  A picture is worth a thousand words?   SOOOO....  We were greeted by this wonderful set-up in this first photo in the morning.  We were served lunch with a homemade carrot ginger soup that was outrageously good.  Our tea cups were kept filled and the ink flowed.  Lots of projects and fun revolved around our tables.

Sandy, owner of the store on the left and our marvelous teacher.on the right.

Since I have so many photos here, I'll save the projects we worked on for another post... Yes, I am devilish!

Hear All About Die Cut Divas

Paula's been creating buttons and bows... no, that's not it.  Buttons and Banners!  Oh my!  I think it's time to get re-acquainted with the Die Cut Divas blog and no time like the present.  Why, you ask?  Little elves have been playing and uploading, top loading, bottom loading anything and everything for the February challenge.

Our Hannah has a fantastic challenge for February and I'm so happy to be able to present a sample to our challenge blog.  I made a Valentine card with a twist.  It's rather sparkly when the light hits it.  Is that heart flying out of the mirror?

The inside of the card below.

However, there's more than a twist to the challenge, so continue on to DIE CUT DIVAS now!
